Turn up the heat...

Good morning kids and HAPPY FRIGGIN’ FRIDAY!!!

The Consumer Electronics Show is going on this week in Las Vegas. Top products include several 3D televisions and Bluray-3D, so you can enjoy all those 3D movies at home from the comfort of your couch. Among them is Samsung’s new 9000 series LED TV with a touchscreen remote control. DirecTV will be the first to offer 3D-TV with service beginning in June. Sony and Disney studios also announced they will have Bluray-3D titles available this year.

AT&T announced it will begin carrying 5 new smartphones on the Android platform. One from Motorola, one from Dell, and possibly three from HTC. I have had my new phone, the HTC Hero from Sprint, for about 3 weeks now and I am loving it! Fast, easy to use, tons of applications, and sexy! I am a fan of the Android phones!

Other popular devices include touchscreen laptops such as the TouchSmart from HP, which is a laptop that converts to a tablet with a twist and fold of the screen. Panasonic unveiled their 152-inch plasma television! That’s like taking my current TV screen and stacking it 3 wide and 3 high! New versions of the Palm Pre and Palm Pixi phones currently available through Sprint will be coming to the Verizon network. The new Palm Pre Plus should ship January 25th to Verizon subscribers. Google also announced the new HTC Nexus One smartphone is now available to T-Mobile customers and will be available to Verizon customers this spring.

There are way more devices, gadgets, and technologies on display at CES than I have time for. If you want, check out http://www.engadget.com/ces for full coverage. And Randy, hope you had fun out there. Don’t forget to bring me the new Samsung LED TV. A 55-inch should do.

For the couple weeks that surround Christmas and New Year’s Day, it is kind of quiet. Well, except for your occasional terror plot, Alabama winning the National Title, and me hitting a hole-in-one last night on Golden Tee… again. Other than that, nothing. So, you have reached the end of this week’s post. The Boat Show is going on downtown at the convention center. Don’t know, but maybe I’ll see you there. Either way, have a great weekend and try to stay warm!
