Please help me find the right deal?

Question:
so i might go on contract?
and i would like it for about 12-18 months, 100-200 minutes, 300-400 texts, unlimited internet, please.
and with a nokia n97 mini or a htc g1 thank you.
Answer:
Well, both of the phones you want to get are GSM phones so you have two choices: AT&T or T-Mobile. While you can use the Nokia n97 on either network, the g1 is a T-Mobile phone, so I would recommend going with T-Mobile. I personally don't know if you can get a plan with just 100-200 minuets a month from them, and even though you want to get a contract with them, you may want to see how their prepaid service would work for you. You would have to pay the entire cost of the g1 up front, but if you really don't talk that much, it would be a waste to 450 minuets in it.

Android to join Palm at GDC this year and offer free phones

Palm isn’t the only company who thinks quality games are an important part of a mobile platform. Android has jumped on the GDC (Game Developers Conference) wagon and will be working with developers at the show in San Francisco on March 9th and 10th. They will be giving demonstrations and working with developers on developing Java and C++ games for the Android platform. Google says that 7/10 of their 20,000 applications are games and that they are very excited to support the growing trend by helping developers create some games. We don’t know just yet if this means we will see EA or any other big mobile developers showing off any 3D games, but it is a possibility. No one thought Palm would do it, we have seen Apple hold the 3D game flag for some time, and now it is Google’s turn to show us just what Android can do. Also Google will be offering up some rewards for developers in attendance!

If you sign up before February 4th for the All Access or Tutorials and Summits passes then you will receive either a Motorola Droid or Google’s Nexus One from HTC. Show up to help out Google and in return Google will give you one of the two hottest Android phones available today!

QUICK, ANSWER!!! 10 pnts for best answer!!?

Question:
QUICKFIRE VS. HTC TILT VS. Samsung IMPRESSION VS. Lg XENON WHICH IS BETTER????
Answer:
It all depends on how muh you are looking to spend. The Impression and Xenon are only 10 dollar data packages while the tilt is 30. I dont know about the Quickfire but I have personally used it before and thought it was terrrible. I used to own an impression and loved it. texting was great, battery life was suprisingly good, and the web browsing was pretty quick. I would go with the impression because you would get more bang for your buck

The HTC Discover

HTC Discover Concept, an Android Phone With a 10 Megapixel Camera

HTC Discover Concept, an Android Phone With a 10 Megapixel Camera

This concept came from a British designer named Timur Pinar. The Phone features a 10 megapixel camera, a 16:9 screen setting, Stereo Bluetooth support, 3G, and Wi-Fi. Timur Pinar claims that the device borrows a few design traits from previous Google Android phones, like HTC Magic or Hero, like the “chin”. This time, this element is incorporated into the brushed aluminum bezel and what differentiates this model from others is its new concave front design. The device also has HTC’s Sense UI.

HTC Supersonic Sense UI + 2.1 + Wimax

WOW Now this is THE device I am waiting for! Below are all the juicy details:

HTC ‘Supersonic’ to ring in WiMAX on Sprint, Android-style: “Remember that mysterious HTC A9292 with WiMAX rumored for Sprint a few days back? Well, take a seat, folks — we think we’ve got the lowdown on it here from a trusted source, and it’s a bit of a monster:

  • Codename is ‘Supersonic’ — a name we’ve heard at least once before.
  • Feels a lot like you’d expect an Android-powered HD2 to feel thanks to a 4.3-inch non-AMOLED display and a svelte shell. (For reference, the HD2 is 11mm thick, but we don’t have exact dimensions here.)
  • It’s got a kickstand on the back. This wouldn’t be a first for HTC; the Imagio on Verizon has one, for example.
  • Runs Android 2.1 with HTC’s Sense UI.
  • Our tipster saw it in white; production devices could be available in different colors, of course, but white seems like it’d be an intriguing choice for a phone of the HD2’s size and shape.
  • The phone’s software stack is buggy enough right now to suggest that we’re not looking at a release any time soon, but we don’t have details on the projected launch window.
  • It’s fast — Snapdragon fast, it seems, though our tipster can’t confirm the processor under the hood.

Estimated Nexus One Sales: Only 20,000 Units in the First Week

Flurry, which monitors usage of over 10,000 developers, has published some (projected) sales numbers for Google’s and HTC’s new flag ship smart phone, the Nexus One. According to Flurry, only about 20,000 Nexus Ones were sold in its first week on the market. It was outsold by Droid by more than 12 times, myTouch 3G by 3 times and iPhone 3GS by 80 times.

“To estimate first week sales totals for the Nexus One, myTouch 3G, Droid and iPhone 3GS, Flurry detected new handsets within its system, and then made adjustments to account for varying levels of Flurry application penetration by handset. Flurry additionally crosschecked its estimates against Apple actual sales, released for iPhone 3GS, which totaled more than one million units over the three days, June 19 – 21, 2009. Flurry first week sales estimates can be found in the table below.”

Nexus One was a highly anticipated mobile phone, but Google didn’t spend millions of dollars advertising it, opting for a sort of a soft launch for the device. Verizon and Motorola, on the other hand, had spent close to 100 million dollars advertising the Droid, and if Flurry’s numbers are correct, it definitely shows the difference a good advertising campaign can make.

What phone and carrier should i get?

Question:
i have an iphone with at&t right now. however, i have had many issues and both apple and at&t have refused to give me satisfactory support. im planning on moving to a different carrier but i don't know which one to go to. if i move to verizon, im getting either an env touch or moto droid. if i move to sprint, im either getting a samsung moment or htc touch pro 2. help?
Answer:
Definitely go with Verizon. They are very helpful and have excellent call service (I live in rural North Dakota and I even get good service out here, although we don't even have at&t :) My aunt just bought the Droid and it is absolutely amazing. It even has a feature that lets you take a picture of a bar code and it will tell you what it its and average prices (I just think thats cool) I figure you just had an iPhone so a Droid would be a good replacement. Turn up the heat...

Good morning kids and HAPPY FRIGGIN’ FRIDAY!!!

The Consumer Electronics Show is going on this week in Las Vegas. Top products include several 3D televisions and Bluray-3D, so you can enjoy all those 3D movies at home from the comfort of your couch. Among them is Samsung’s new 9000 series LED TV with a touchscreen remote control. DirecTV will be the first to offer 3D-TV with service beginning in June. Sony and Disney studios also announced they will have Bluray-3D titles available this year.

AT&T announced it will begin carrying 5 new smartphones on the Android platform. One from Motorola, one from Dell, and possibly three from HTC. I have had my new phone, the HTC Hero from Sprint, for about 3 weeks now and I am loving it! Fast, easy to use, tons of applications, and sexy! I am a fan of the Android phones!

Other popular devices include touchscreen laptops such as the TouchSmart from HP, which is a laptop that converts to a tablet with a twist and fold of the screen. Panasonic unveiled their 152-inch plasma television! That’s like taking my current TV screen and stacking it 3 wide and 3 high! New versions of the Palm Pre and Palm Pixi phones currently available through Sprint will be coming to the Verizon network. The new Palm Pre Plus should ship January 25th to Verizon subscribers. Google also announced the new HTC Nexus One smartphone is now available to T-Mobile customers and will be available to Verizon customers this spring.

There are way more devices, gadgets, and technologies on display at CES than I have time for. If you want, check out http://www.engadget.com/ces for full coverage. And Randy, hope you had fun out there. Don’t forget to bring me the new Samsung LED TV. A 55-inch should do.

For the couple weeks that surround Christmas and New Year’s Day, it is kind of quiet. Well, except for your occasional terror plot, Alabama winning the National Title, and me hitting a hole-in-one last night on Golden Tee… again. Other than that, nothing. So, you have reached the end of this week’s post. The Boat Show is going on downtown at the convention center. Don’t know, but maybe I’ll see you there. Either way, have a great weekend and try to stay warm!

Dell, HTC, and Motorola smartphones coming to AT&T with Android in 2010

AT&T’s news press room is giving anyone who will listen the scoop on 2010. AT&T will be offering a new SDK for developers and a few Android phones in their new ‘Bring apps to all‘ initiative. Today AT&T announced they will be offering 5 new Android handsets in the first half of 2010 from Dell, HTC, and Motorola. They don’t say specifically which but we will do our best to venture a guess. The Motorola handset will feature Motoblur and what AT&T says is “a unique new form factor”. So they must be talking about the rumored Motorola Backflip which was expected to come sometime in 2010. As far as Dell goes I think it is safe to assume this will be Dell’s Mini 3 which launched in China earlier last year. Hopefully it will come with WiFi and no dumbing down of features. HTC is the trickiest, we could see the rumored Hero 2, the Dragon, or even the HTC Legend which looks to be a successor to the Hero. Whatever it ends up being we are expecting some Android on AT&T which is currently the largest GSM carrier in the United States. Once this happens Android will be on all 4 major carriers leaving behind iPhone who is stuck with AT&T and Palm witht he Pre/Pixi who is stuck on Sprint but rumored to arrive on Verizon soon. Anyone else excited to see if Android phones work better or worse then the iPhone with AT&T’s 3G?
